A new sustainable gardening brand for the Kingfisher group.
MamaTerra is the first full range of natural gardening products, from seeds and soils to feeds and fertilisers, the range will be launched across the UK, France and Poland early 2023.
Sustainable simplicity with an accessible feel good nature, was the aim for this new brand. The logo mark was hand drawn by myself to reflect the human aspect of gardening. The ‘smudge’ that forms this mark, is a metaphor for movement and progression, its’ fluid and imperfect aesthetic is much like nature’s simple, real and unique processes.
Derived from the handwritten aesthetic of the MamaTerra logo, and inspired by notes from garden journals, the marks and illustrations, drawn by myself, add personality, making the brand approachable and fun.
Craft paper is used throughout to evoke the sustainable aspect, whilst adding warmth and texture.
Initial concepts and naming options were taken into customer testing across the key markets.
We explored over 50 different names before landing on MamaTerra. A name that works across the different European markets.
