A moderator, or a mod for short, are redditors who volunteer their time to help guide and create Reddit’s many communities. We were asked to create an event that celebrated and thanked the MODs for all they do for the platform.

We created an overarching event name, MOD City enabling the evolution and longevity of the event. A global celebration of our amazing MOD community.

We kicked it off with back-to-back events at custom house parties in the UK and France. We wanted our MODs to feel comfortable and relaxed.

Each room was themed around that of a home. The living room with chillout sofa areas, dressed with conversation starter cushions. A fully-stocked kitchen and free bar with a custom cocktail menu.

The games room, equipped with a bespoke Reddit ping pong table, board games and consoles for the more competitive guests!

Even the bathroom with it’s subreddit printed toilet rolls added layers of reddit touches for our MODs to discover.

A ‘Snoodio’ for some self-expression was then followed by a live AMA session with Laura Nestler, VP of Community.
